Game 79: Orioles 2, Red Sox 3
The Good:
* Brad Bergesen did give up two home runs (to JD Drew), but he still had his best start of the season tonight in Boston. 7.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 7 K and 10 groundouts to 8 flyouts. Coming into today's game, batter had swung and missed just 3.7% of the pitches Bergy had thrown. In this one it was 6%, and he was able to pound the strike-zone and mix his pitches effectively. Hopefully this means that Bergy's finally back.
* Nick Markakis hit his 4th home run of the season, and every Orioles but Wigginton reached base.
The Bad:
* Despite 8 guys getting on, they only did so once each. The team looked impatient and only managed 7 (6 singles) hits and one walk, which isn't usually going to be enough at Fenway.
The Final:
A quality start from Bergesen is wasted, and the O's fall 3-2.
