Spring Training Game 10: Orioles at Yankees

Written by Daniel Moroz on .

The Orioles take on Al East foes, the New York Yankees. The Yanks don't have A-Rod, Tex, or the Cap'n in the line-up, but it's still not an easy go for Jeremy Guthrie and O's pitching. The Good: * Ty Wigginton hit a two-run homer (plus a single), and Garrett Atkins added a solo shot. * Lou Montanez picked up a couple of hits as well. * Cla Meredith with another perfect inning. He hasn't given up a baserunner yet this Spring. * Matt Albers also tossed a perfect frame, and kept his ERA at 0.00 in 5.1 innings. The Bad: * Guthrie gave up 4 runs on 8 hits and a walk in 3 and a third innings. No home runs though. The offense managed just three runs, and the O's lost 5-3. Drops them to 2-8 on the Spring - and they're averaging only 4.1 runs per game, which is the second lowest mark for all teams. Their .299 OBP is the lowest. Doesn't really matter; just saying.
