Sky Andrecheck of The Baseball Analysts has been looking at expected attendance recently, and
one of his posts compares the actual to what his model would predict. Interestingly - and perhaps surprisingly - the Orioles came out looking pretty good (even recently).
The orange line being above (along with above the other AL East teams) indicates that the Birds have drawn better than one would have expected. I think part of that - the more recent part - is because the team has been losing so much that you'd think no fans would show up at all. Still, Baltimore did used to have a reputation as having some of the best fans in baseball, and I think this lends a little credibility to that assessment.
